Temperatures are rising to a record high in Tanintharyi Region, and drinking water problems are occurring in some neighborhoods and villages, sources said.

As the temperature has risen and drinking water has become difficult, the Fire Services Department and charity organizations have been going to some neighborhoods and villages to donate water.

On April 2, the Fire Services Department and the charity associations are donating drinking water to the Kalwin Village, Kywe Ku Village, Yay Pone ward and Shan Chaunggyi ward in Myeik Township, some neighborhoods in Palaw town, No.3 Ward and monasteries of Phan Khar Pin Kone in Kyunsu Township.

"There are difficulties in getting fresh water in some places. Fresh water can only be obtained from rainwater. Those places now have no fresh water. The Fire Services Department and charity organizations came to donate water. There may be water dried out in other neighborhoods and villages," said a resident of Kalwin Village, Myeik District.

In the summer of this year, some of the wards and villages in Myeik District are facing difficulties in obtaining fresh water, so if there is a problem with drinking water, the district fire services department and charity associations will donate water.

Dawei town in Tanintharyi Region has set the highest temperature record in 77 years, and other townships are also setting new temperature records almost every day, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).
