According to reports, an online booking system for passport applications will be implemented in Myitkyina, Monywa, Lashio, Taunggyi, Sittwe, Hakah, Pha-an, Mawlamyine, Dawei, and Magway.

 The Myanmar Passport Issuing Board confirmed that this online system is now available for use in these cities, providing convenience for applicants seeking passport services.

The online booking system will be used from May 2, and it will start in Myitkyina, Monywa, Lashio, Taunggyi, Kengton, Sittwe, Hakha, Hpa-an, Mawlamyine, Dawei, and Magway and those who will apply for a passport can make an appointment beginning from 9 am on May 1, the Myanmar Passport Issuing Board announced.

In addition, those who have the Yangon Region Household List , QR Code can be applied for at the passport issuing office in Nay Pyi Taw. Those who have the Kayah State household list can apply for at the Taunggyi branch office with the approval of the Kayah State government (or regional military headquarters’ approval). The branch offices in the rest of the states and regions will only host the relevant household members, it is stated.

As the Myanmar Passport Issuing Group, passports have been issued at the Myanmar Passport Issuing Office (Yangon) since February 24, 2023 and passports have been issued starting from February 26 in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Pathein and  Bago, 2024.  Passports are being verified and issued according to the online booking system.
