Military columns operating along the Kamamaung–Hpapun corridor have completed major infrastructure repairs and regained control of a series of strategic villages following operations initiated on May 5, 2026. 

Advancing sequentially between May and September, troops secured 13 locations, beginning at Kyauk Kwin Lay village and reaching Hpa Lon Gyi village on September 7. Over the course of 56 engagements, forces seized 11 temporary outposts, 15 weapons, 24 FPV drones, and 243 mines, with reported casualties among security personnel.

In parallel with security operations, combat engineers collaborated with departmental officials to rebuild three destroyed crossings—the Yay Pu, Mile 40, and Kanyin Don bridges—fully restoring normal civilian and vehicular movement. Clearance operations continue as troops work to secure and reopen the final remaining stretch between Hpa Lon Gyi and Hpapun.
