The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association has announced that it will issue letters of recommendation to garment workers returning home during Thingyan.
These letters will include the worker's name, registration number, Social Security Number, company employee number, work department, current address, and permanent address. Additionally, they must bear the signature and position of a company official, along with the company's official stamp, as per the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association's guidelines.
Furthermore, some highway bus operators at the Aung Mingalar highway bus station have specified that travelers riding the expressway must also provide a ward or police travel recommendation along with their registration number. This new requirement aims to ensure smoother travel arrangements and compliance with travel protocols.
"If you buy a car ticket, you need to bring the registration card. A letter of travel recommendation from the community/ward or police station is also needed on the date of travel. It must be taken within a week," said an official from New Asia Bus Line.
An official from the Myat Mandalar Tun Expressway said that it was necessary to bring only the registration card in the past but now travel recommendation is also required.
"Now travel recommendation is also required but previously only registration card is needed," said an official from the bus line.
An official from Mandalar Min Passenger Transportation said that those who are going back to the place mentioned in the registration card, only need to bring the registration card, and those who are traveling to other places need to bring ward/police recommendation.
"If you are going to return to your hometown, you need your registration card. If you are going to another place for business, you must bring a ward/police recommendation," said an official from the bus line.
In the past, it was only necessary to bring the registration card when traveling, but starting from the last few days, it is necessary to bring ward/police recommendation, according to some passenger bus lines.
