President U Min Aung Hlaing is a member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), party spokesperson U Hla Thein confirmed during a press conference following the party's fourth conference in Nay Pyi Taw on September 20.

Responding to media queries regarding former leaders and U Min Aung Hlaing's affiliation, U Hla Thein affirmed his membership while clarifying the roles of veteran figures. He noted that former President U Thein Sein remains a permanent central consultant, though recent conference absences were due to age, health, or travel. 

Addressing the presence of former senior officials such as U Soe Thein and U Kyaw Hsan, U Hla Thein emphasized a lasting party commitment, remarking that "once a USDP member, always a USDP member."

The spokesperson added that veteran figures with extensive administrative and party seniority—such as former ministers, directors-general, or Central Executive Committee members with over a decade of service—are regularly retained as central consultants to provide strategic advice during regular quarterly meetings.
