Authorities are preparing a sports ground in Sagaing to keep COVID-19 suspects, sources said.

The preparation works are made across the country after Myanmar identified two COVID-19 cases and authorities in Sagaing are prepared to keep the suspects at the sports ground, said Win Naing, Chair of Sagaing Township Development Committee.

The authorities organized a committee led by the district administrator to choose a place to keep the suspects and they chose the sports ground located in Zeya Kwat Thit ward.

“We don’t have COVID-19 suspects right now but we made preparation to keep them if we found any of them. The buildings in the sports ground can accommodate 56 people. All buildings have facilities such as kitchen and toilets as athletes can stay in the competition period,” he said.

Washbasins are placed in markets and disinfectants are sprayed in crowded areas in Sagaing.
