Police arrests five men in connection with armed robbery in Ahlon

Police arrested five men in connection with an armed robbery at a house in Ahlon Township, according to Yangon Region police force.

The police caught two of them in the compound of the house where the robbery took place and three are arrested in East Dagon and Taikkyi townships.

The police interrogated Soe Kyaw Kyaw Lwin and he confessed that he met with Hla Win, who was sent by Myo Myint Aung, in a teashop in East Dagon Township. Hla Win said they will go to ask debts from a man in Ahlon Township and he asked for five men to help them. He said he will pay Ks500,000 each. He told him to come to in front of Central Women Hospital by 4:30 pm.

Soe Kyaw Kyaw Lwin went to the place along with Thura, Kayin, Saw Than Oo and Swan Saung Oo with a taxi. After a while, a group of men led by Hla Win and Myo Myint Aung arrived there with a light truck. They wore masks and carried sticks and swords to enter in the house.

They found three youths in the office and they removed and took CCTV system box and cameras in the office.

“They hired gangsters to have their debts. At that time, there are only manager and workers in the office. The manager rang the owner and explained about the situation. When the owner arrived, he saw group of people holding swords and sticks in the compound. He asked help from nearby and blocked the main gate. The criminals took the manager along with them by crashed open the gate with the manager’s car. The owner followed after them in his car. They rang the owner not to follow them. They told him not to make report to the police. The owner called 199 call center and made a complaint,” said a police officer from Yangon Region police force.

He continued, “The police arrested five of them and three are still at large.”

The police lodged a complaint against them under Section 395 of the Penal Code at Ahlon Township police station.
