A brazen daylight robbery unfolded at the Kanbawza Bank (Branch No.46) located at the corner of 74th Street and 31 (A) Street, Moyagiwa Ward, Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region, on March 25, at around 11:00 am.

Three unidentified men, armed with a gun and axes, stormed into the bank and forced everyone inside to the ground. They then proceeded to loot the bank, taking away polythene bags containing 5,000-kyat and 10,000-kyat notes (amount not yet confirmed) and over 180 million kyats in cash that was reportedly being withdrawn at the time.

The total amount stolen is currently under investigation by authorities. Mandalay authorities are investigating the robbery. No arrests have been reported as of yet.
