In a significant operation, a joint team comprising members of the Anti-Narcotics Police Force intercepted a Toyota Hiace vehicle near Makyiyay village in Nyaungcho Township, northern Shan State. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 pm on February 21.

During the search, law enforcement officials discovered an astonishing 1.43 million stimulant tablets, with an estimated street value of around 700 million kyats. These illicit drugs were being transported from Shan State to the Mandalay Region.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Sai Yee Hlaine, now faces legal consequences. Additionally, authorities are actively pursuing leads to expose any further accomplices involved in this drug trafficking operation.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of Myanmar’s Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC Myanmar) in combating narcotics-related crimes and safeguarding public health and safety.
