Masked robbers strike gold shop in Panbedan Township, Yangon: second heist in months

In Yangon Region, Panbedan Township, a robbery occurred at the Taint Shein gold shop located between 29th and 30th Streets around 9:00 AM on March 23, according to local residents.

In Panbedan Township, Ward (6), between 29th and 30th Streets on Maha Bandoola Road, four masked men entered the Taint Shein gold shop at around 8:45 AM. One of them brandished a gun and robbed the shop of its gold jewelry before fleeing, as reported by nearby residents.

"It was just before 9:00 AM when the Taint Shein gold shop was robbed. One of the four masked men showed a gun and forced the shop employees to sit under the counter. They then looted the gold items from the glass counter," said residents living near the scene.

An officer from the Yangon Region Police Force confirmed the incident, stating, "The incident is true. We are collaborating with the relevant township police forces to block off the area and conduct an investigation."

Additionally, it was reported that on January 8 at around 9:30 AM, three men armed with guns and knives robbed the Shwe Chit Thu gold shop in Panbedan Township, making off with gold jewelry.
