The Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC Myanmar) has reported that stimulant pills valued at a staggering 7.5 billion kyats were confiscated. The seizure took place near the Sedawgyi Dam in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region.

On March 6, around 6:00 p.m., a joint team of security forces acted on a tip-off and positioned themselves inside the dam. Their vigilance paid off when they apprehended six individuals: Yaza Moe, Ma Lamin New, Thein Zaw (also known as Chit Hmway), Aung Paing, Ma Phyu Phyu Htwe and Ma Yamin Thu (also known as Min Min).

These suspects were caught red-handed with a staggering 5 million stimulant pills, cleverly concealed within bags of charcoal on two small motorboats.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Sai Min Thu, the alleged mastermind behind the drug transportation. Alongside him, his accomplice Tun Than was also apprehended on March 7 at 7:00 a.m. in Sedaw Village, Madaya Township.

The trail of the seized psychotropic pills extended from Nawnghkio Township in Shan State (North) to Madaya Township in Mandalay Region. The illicit cargo was transported via motorboat along waterways, eventually reaching Mandalay.

Authorities have taken swift legal action against those involved in this illicit drug operation. Meanwhile, efforts continue to identify the entire chain of criminals responsible for this massive drug bust.
