Authorities seize drugs worth 17 million kyats and weapons in Lashio

In a significant operation led by the Anti-Drug Force, authorities in Lashio Township, northern Shan State, seized drugs and weapons valued at 17 million kyats. 

Acting on a tip-off, the Shan State Police Force conducted a raid on a hut owned by Yan Lu in Honapan Kyan village at 8 am on April 21. 

The search resulted in the confiscation of over 8.5 million Kyats’ worth of 0.59 kilos of heroin, 30,000 stimulant tablets valued at approximately 15 million kyats, 3 kilos of raw opium worth 2.4 million kyats, along with four homemade guns and 7.8 million kyats in cash. 

The offenders involved are currently facing prosecution under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law at the Lashio Police Station.
