Four gunmen robbed Kanbawza Bank Branch 9 in Mandalay and took 40 M kyats

The robbery took place at Kanbawza Bank Branch 9 in Mandalay at around 11 am on June 17 and the robbers took 40 million kyats in cash.

Two men came to open KBZ Pay account at Kanbawza Bank Branch 9 located between 26th Street, 62nd and 63rd streets, Pyaygyi Myatman Quarter, Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay and robbed the bank.

While the first two were waiting to open Kpay account, two more men arrived, and a gunman told the bank staff not to move by aiming his guns at them. They then went to the bank counter by aiming their guns at them and took about 40 million kyats in cash in their pockets.

They then placed a black package believed to be a bomb included on the bank counter and said they will detonate it within half an hour if the police were notified. Authorities checked the black package and found that a stone was wrapped around in the package.
