Aungban traffic accident claims one life and leaves another injured

A collision between two vehicles in Aungban, Kalaw Township, southern Shan State on March 21 resulted in one fatality and another individual sustaining serious injuries, according to reports from the social assistance association.

The incident took place around 3 pm on March 21 along the Aungban-Taunggyi Road, a little over Thamainkham Bridge, in front of Nilar Yoma fuel station as the road was slippery due to rain, according to sources.

Involved in the collision were a six-wheeler and a light truck. The driver of the light truck, residing in Aye Thayar, sustained serious injuries, while Maung Tun, a passenger in the light truck, tragically lost his life at the scene.

Following the collision, emergency services swiftly responded, transporting the deceased's body and the injured driver to the emergency department of Aungban Hospital. The body was later moved to the morgue of the same hospital. The seriously injured individual, Ko Kaung Khant, necessitated transfer to Sao San Tun Hospital in Taunggyi, as stated by the Aungban Funeral Aid Association.

Another vehicular incident occurred when a vehicle veered into a roadside ditch on the Aungban-Taunggyi Road on March 20, at 10 pm. The injured driver was promptly taken to the emergency department of Aungban Hospital, according to the Aungban Funeral Aid Association.
