Sources report that Aye Thandar Hospital, located in Daweisu, Pabadan ward, Mawlamyine, has had its health license suspended for a period of three months starting from May 1.

A source familiar with the Department of Health (Nay Pyi Taw) revealed that the suspension was enforced due to the hospital's employment of medical personnel participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), including doctors, nurses, and health workers.

"A person associated with the Department of Health disclosed that random inspections were carried out at private hospitals and clinics in Mawlamyine to identify if they had deployed doctors, nurses, or health workers participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Those facilities found to have employed CDM-affiliated personnel faced consequences," stated the source.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Aye Thandar Hospital had assigned nurses whose licenses had been suspended in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Myanmar Nursing and Midwifery Council.

As a result of these developments, the licensee of Aye Thandar Hospital faces the enforcement of Article 19 of the Law on Private Health Businesses. Owing to non-compliance with the stipulated conditions outlined in subsection (a) of the license, the hospital's operations will be suspended for a period of three months, effective from May 1.

Mawlamyaing Township, located in Mon State, hosts a minimum of ten private hospitals. Besides catering to patients from within the state, there are reports indicating that individuals from Kayin State frequently seek medical treatment in this area.
