SAC chairman meets with ASEAN officials to discuss cooperation and humanitarian aid

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with Alounkeo Kittikhoun, the special envoy of the alternate chairman of ASEAN on Myanmar, and ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, they discussed enhancing Myanmar's cooperation within ASEAN, Myanmar's participation in ASEAN meetings, the provision of humanitarian aid by ASEAN, and the effective distribution of this aid to those in need. 

Both parties also exchanged views on Myanmar's efforts to implement a multiparty democratic system, preparations for a free and fair general election, and the importance of conveying the actual conditions in Myanmar to all stakeholders.

Also present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Than Swe, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Dr. Soe Win, and other officials. 

Accompanying the ASEAN special envoy and Secretary-General were AHA Centre Executive Director Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Lao Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Heuangseng Khamdalavong, and other officials.
