A 100-year-old ancient Buddhist monastery in Thatun Village-tract, Myaung Township, Sagaing Region, is badly in need of renovation and maintenance, according to local sources.
Hman Monastery has existed as the only one of Myitkine Village and it has now fallen into ruin due to climate.
"The monastery tainted into 45 degree to the south. Families from the law department of Mandalay Yadanabon University made their contributions to straightening the monastery. But, many parts of the monastery need repair. For that we have to seek donors," said Min Oo, administrator of Thatun Village-tract.
The ancient monastery measures 43 feet by 84 feet with 84 teak posts. Maintenance tasks are being carried out to prevent further damage. Donors are now being invited for major repair. The authorities have released contact phone numbers (09-256195153, 09-785024852 and 09-976851338) for donors.
