Yangon Passport Office online appointments fully booked until October

The Myanmar Passport Office has released a statement indicating that online appointments for the Passport Issuing Office in Yangon are fully booked until October 23.

Similar high demand is reported across other locations, with appointments filled until at least June.

Specifically, appointments at the Nay Pyi Taw passport office are unavailable until June 4, while the Mandalay City Passport Office is fully booked until August 23. Likewise, the Pathein Passport Office is fully booked until July 10, and the Bago office until August 14, according to the official announcement.

The Yangon passport office can accommodate up to 2,700 individuals per day through the online booking system. Additionally, passport offices in various cities including Nay Pyi Taw, Myitkyina, Haka, Loikaw, Magway, Mandalay, Monywa, Taunggyi, Kengtung, Lashio, Tachilek, Hpa-an, Myawady, Mawlamyine, Dawei, Kawthoung, Pathein, Sittway, and Bago operate on regular working days, as stated by the Myanmar Passport Office.

Addressing concerns about passport issuance amid rumors, the office assured that genuine applicants will be guided through the established process and issued passports accordingly, within the allowed quota. Furthermore, the office pledged to identify and take action against middlemen and individuals spreading rumors or demanding excessive payments.
