Police cracked down on the protest against military coup on February 15 in Nay Pyi Taw and arrested more than 30 people including youths and students. Among them, the whereabouts of 9 youths are yet unknown.

Police detained more than 30 people on February 15 and sent them to Nay Pyi Taw  prison where 27 students were released in the evening.

“We went to prison and asked for the information of the rest of the students who were unable to return. We went there every day and the people at the prison didn’t give specific answers. We were told that the students were sent for interrogation. The reason we went to the prison was not to create riot but to know where our children were and we wanted to send them clothes and food for them. But, we didn't get clear answers,” said Tun Hmwe, father of detained Tin Moe Naing.

“We don’t have anyone to rely on. We, the parents, are like crazy people. We lost our children and we didn’t know where they were. We couldn’t eat or sleep. It’s every parent’s nightmare. If we know where our children are, our worry will ease to some extent,” said Myint Myint Mow, mother of detained Zin Moe Naing.

Nine students under the age of 18 were still detained due to February 15 police cracked down on the protestors. Contact and unable to make and the place of their arrest are unknown till now.
