Foreign Minister and Secretary of NSPNC meet separately with Chinese ambassador and discuss stability in the border areas

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Mr Chen Hai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on March 28.

During the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on further enhancement of the existing relations between the two countries, and to create a better economic environment for the Chinese companies in Myanmar and to implement internal peace process. 

Similarly, secretary of National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) Lt-Gen Min Naing also met Mr Chen Hai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar on separate occasion on March 28.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the internal peace process in Myanmar and reviewed the status of the implementation of the peace talk agreement on the issue of northern Myanmar.

The Chinese Ambassador said that he hoped Myanmar would continue to resolve the conflict through dialogue and stabilize the internal conflict in Myanmar. China hopes to achieve progress in the peace process and protect stability and peace in the border region. China will continue to play a positive role in this, according to the statement issued by the Chinese Embassy.

Likewise, Lt. Gen. Min Naing thanked China for its positive role and said Myanmar is trying to bring about internal peace and national reconciliation and maintain stability and peace in the border region. Myanmar will continue to strive for these reasons and always cooperate with China according to the statement.
