Two farmers lost their lives due to a lightning strike while waiting for a plough at a farm in Hsinchan village-tract, Taikgyi Township, Yangon Region. 

The unfortunate event occurred yesterday evening during a sudden bout of untimely rains, strong winds, and lightning.

The victims, a 44-year-old man and his 24-year-old friend, sought shelter under a tree situated behind the Aiklalaung Kyin camp of the New Life Project. 

As the rain intensified, tragedy struck when lightning hit the area, fatally injuring both farmers.
