Fatal accident on Yangon-Mawlamyine Highway claims one life, injures several others

According to emergency responders, tragedy struck at approximately 10:00 a.m. on May 4, when a passenger vehicle overturned along the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway near Thabyeni village in Bilin Township, Mon State, claiming the life of a man.

Detailing the incident, a rescue worker stated that the vehicle, en route from Kyaikhto town to Thaton town, lost control and overturned while speeding near Moe Kyaw fuel station close to the Lucky Yadana Plywood Factory in Thabyeni Village.

"There were eight occupants in the vehicle, including the driver," the worker recounted. "One man sustained fatal injuries, including a severe head trauma and the amputation of his right leg. Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Among the remaining seven passengers, three men sustained serious injuries."

The two remaining men and two women suffered minor injuries. Those requiring medical attention were promptly transported to Bilin Township People’s Hospital for treatment.
