Man killed, motorcycle stolen in Thaton Township

According to reports from local residents, a man was fatally attacked and his motorcycle was stolen on the night of March 29 in Thuwannawadi, Thaton Township.

Forty-three-year-old Ko Ye Win Tun, a resident of Thathanar Road in Theinseik ward, informed his wife that he was going to meet a friend before leaving his home with his motorcycle for a tea shop along the Yangon-Mawlamyaing road on the evening of March 29. However, he failed to return home, prompting his family to file a complaint with the police according to a local.

The family proceeded to open a missing person's report for Ko Ye Win Tun at the local police station and conducted searches in nearby areas. The following morning, on March 30, Ko Ye Win Tun's body was discovered with stab wounds in a roadside drain west of A Kaung Kyaik Tea Shop, the man continued.

However, a local said that the motorcycle that Ko Ye Win Tun was riding was missing and that it might be a murder and robbery case. His body was sent to Theinseik district hospital.

The case has been opened at the local police station, and investigations are currently underway, it is reported.
