Heavy rainfall caused by the influence of a small storm has triggered landslides along some roads connecting Thailand’s Tak Province with the Myanmar border, while extensive crop damage has been reported in Mae Kasa sub-district due to flooding, according to reports.

Heavy rains have caused landslides, damage to major roads, road sections being cut off and hazardous conditions for travelers and local residents in areas connected to Mae Sot District in Tak Province along the Thai-Myanmar border.

On several major roads, including the Mae Sot–Tak highway, sections of the road surface have collapsed deeply, with landslides and large cracks appearing.

Authorities have partially closed some roads for traffic safety and warned motorists to drive with extreme caution and use alternative routes.

The relevant road authorities have also urged motorists not to drive at high speeds on downhill roads and bends and to exercise extra caution when traveling, as further landslides could occur if heavy rain continues.

Continuous rainfall has also caused flooding in two wards in Mae Kasa sub-district near Mae Sot on the Thai-Myanmar border, resulting in damage and losses, including to crop fields, according to reports.
