Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees has officially announced the successful clearance of squatter shops located near the eastern gate of the iconic Shwe Dagon Pagoda.

These shops, situated outside the pagoda's designated boundary, were subject to removal. In collaboration with the Yangon City Development Committee, the clearing operation took place on March 15 and 16.

Furthermore, to enhance visitor facilities, the board has ensured the construction of well-maintained public restrooms within the pagoda's premises. Dedicated staff members have been assigned to maintain cleanliness, ensuring a pleasant experience for pilgrims and visitors alike.
