Shwe Kyun Thar Resort, situated in the middle of Ayeyawaddy River in Seibin Kyun village, Kyauk Myaung Township in Sagain Region, will be opened on December 31, according to Sagaing Region tourism development committee.

“During the low tide, there is a huge sand beach near Seibin Kyun village. We couldn’t grow anything on it but we had an idea to create a resort there. First, we brought foreigners on there and they could view the sunset from there. We want our citizens to be able to enjoy the same and so we started building a resort there. It will be opened on December 31,” said Min Tin, member of Sagaing Region tourism development committee.

Visitors can also enjoy riding bicycle and horse at the island. Those coming on the opening day will be served with local foods and stage show. The cost for each visit will be Ks 8000.

By creating Shwe Kyun Thar resort, local will have jobs and at the same time people can enjoy the scenery. Besides, people can participate in conservation of Ayeyawaddy dolphins. The resort will be opened as long as the low tide last.

Shwe Kyun Thar resort can be visited via boats from Singu and Kyauk Myaung.
