SAC Chair and wife lead Tatmadaw families in paying respects to retired officers, including former President U Thein Sein

The ceremony, in which the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) paid their respects to the retired military officers, including former President U Thein Sein, who attended the 79th Armed Forces Day ceremony, was held on the morning of March 27 at Zeya Thiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw.

A total of 16 retired senior military officers and 10 wives attended the ceremony, led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and his wife, senior military officers and their wives from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) are said to be attending to pay their respects.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said in his speech of respect that in accordance with the tradition of the Tatmadaw, we have inherited the responsibilities of the Tatmadaw for generations. The retired officers of the Tatmadaw who attended this ceremony are even their parents and teachers. The Tatmadaw had to preserve and protect the nation from the dangers of disintegration for all ages. At present, the Tatmadaw is carrying out national duties in accordance with the 2008Constitution. Some ethnic armed groups are carrying out terrorist acts by giving ethnic and political reasons. In order not to disintegrate ethnic unity and the union, Tatmadaw is being carried out only in accordance with the law. According to the current situation in the country, the Conscription Law and the Reserve Forces Law have been approved and enforced, and the Tatmadaw is making efforts to create a great union with eternal stability and peace.

After that, on behalf of the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air), the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, the attending senior military officers and their wives paid their respects to the retired military officers in accordance with Myanmar traditional customs and traditions.

Then General Thein Sein, Colonel Nyunt Swe and Lt. Gen. Aung Htwe, on behalf of retired army officers, said that it is a good and proud tradition of the Tatmadaw to pay respects to retired military officers and their wives every year on the occasion of Armed Forces Day. They wished all military personnel and family members led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, to be healthy and fulfilled and said other words of wisdom.

After that, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) and his wife, senior military officers and their wives presented gifts to the retired military officers and their wives.
