The State Administration Council (SAC) information team clarified procedures for upcoming military service recruitment in Myanmar.

A draft Military Service Bylaw is currently being reviewed by experts for final approval. While the final bylaw isn't released yet, regional authorities have been informed of procedures for collecting names of potential recruits through local villages and wards.

Names collected will be submitted to townships, then regional and state levels, before reaching a central body. The central body will select individuals and send their names back down for health checks.

To avoid delays, villages and wards are estimating the number of recruits needed to meet central requirements. This doesn't guarantee military service, but increases the likelihood of selection.

Those selected will receive the same benefits as current military personnel, including rations, salaries, uniforms, and other support. The SAC information team emphasized that procedures follow the law, and exemptions and deferrals are being handled appropriately.

The team addressed rumors of villages arranging support for families of recruits. They suggest this might be a community effort to ease the economic burden on families, not a requirement of the law.

The information team reiterated that the current procedures follow the draft bylaw, and anyone can file an official objection if they believe the law is being violated. They also confirmed the final Military Service Bylaw will be released soon.
