The flights to Myitkyina at Bhamo airports in Kachin State have been temporarily suspended, according to some travel agencies and ticket sellers.

Myitkyina Airport has been closed since the morning of March 9, and some passengers who were going to Myitkyina from Yangon had to return while waiting at Mingaladon Airport.

"I had to return without going on the trip because the airport was closed. I'll have to ask about the ticket refund," said a passenger going to Myitkyina from Yangon.

Similarly, some Mandalay residents said that passengers going to Myitkyina from Mandalay had to turn back from the airport.

Flights have been suspended since the morning of March 9, and ticket sales have been temporarily suspended, according to a ticket sales representative in Myitkyina.

"We don't know when it will reopen. At the moment, the sale of flight tickets is closed," said a plane ticket sales representative from Myitkyina.

Similarly, Bhamo Airport has also been temporarily closed since March 7, according to some ticket sales representatives.

According to some airlines flying to Kachin State, the airports have been temporarily closed due to some skirmishes taking place in the vicinity of Myitkyina Airport and Bhamo Airport.

"I asked the airport and found out that it was temporarily closed because there was fighting going on. It is not yet known when it will reopen," according to a domestic airline.

Some airlines fly to Bhamo and Putao Airports in Kachin State via Myitkyina Airport.

There are daily flights to Myitkyina by Myanmar Airways International and Mann Yadanarpon Airlines, and Myanmar National Airlines also flies to Myitkyina.
