Schools in all townships to reopen on Nov 1 except for those in 46 townships

Schools in all other townships will reopen on November 1 except for those in 46 townships in nine states and regions, according to a statement from the Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment for COVID-19 released on October 28.

Basic education schools under the Department of Basic Education (including private schools and monastic schools) in all townships will be reopened from November 1 except for the schools in 46 townships in Kachin, Kayah, Karen, Chin, Shan and Rakhine states and Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway regions, it said.

The townships where schools have not yet reopened are Naungmoon, Putao, Bhamo, Mogaung, Mohnyin and Chibwe townships in Kachin State, Hpasawng, Bawlakha and Maisal townships in Kayah State, Phapun and Thantaunggyi townships in Kayin State, Falam and Hakha townships in Chin State, Leshi Township in Sagaing Region,  Saw, Tilin, Kamma and Sinbaungwe townships in Magway Region, Meiktila Township in Mandalay Region, Gwa Township in Rakhine State and Naungcho, Kengtung, Monghpayak, Mongyawng, Hsihseng, Pindaya, Pinlaung, Yapsauk, Hopong, Kutkai, Nanhkan, Mabein, Monghsat, Mongtong, Kunlong, Lashio, Hseni, Mongnai, Mongpan, Mawkmai, Linkhae, Kunhing, Namhsan, Monghsu, Laihka and Loilen townships in Shan State, according to the statement.
