An official from Yangon railway station reported that a mine blast occurred on May 24 on the Yangon-Mandalay railway section between Kanyutkwin and Nyaungbinthar stations, temporarily suspending transportation.

The official stated, "For details, you will need to inquire at Kanyutkwin station. We don't have the specifics. The key point is that the railway will be repaired immediately, and transportation will resume once repairs are complete."

An explosion occurred near the Patta village road crossing, between railway mile post No. 126/7-8. The blast severed approximately 4 feet of the inner rail track on the Yangon-Mandalay Railway and damaged about 5 blocks of concrete sleepers. The 11Up express train was halted at Nyaunglaybin Station, and the 994 DN freight train was stopped at Phyu Station due to the explosion.

On May 1, at around 5:00 a.m., a mine blast occurred on the railway section between Kanyutkwin and Nyaungbinthar stations. The explosion caused the derailment of four carriages including a locomotive of the 901UP cargo train. As a result, several train schedules were canceled.
