Heavy rain and strong winds caused a series of incidents in Hinthada

Due to heavy rain and strong winds on May 25, trees fell and  damaged the umbrella of a pagoda and a Buddha statue in Hinthada. Additionally, a tree fell on the highway, seriously injuring two pedestrians and blocking the road according to locals.

These incidents occurred near Ywathit Village in Hinthada Township. a Malaysian Padauk tree also fell, and injuring two people on the Hinthata-Ingapu Road between mileposts (5/4) and (6/5).

"Both victims were seriously injured. They were pedestrians, and when the tree fell, they couldn’t stop their  motorcycle in time and went under the fallen tree. Our team transported the injured to Hinthada Hospital. One had severe injuries to the face, head, and ribs and was later transferred to Yangon Hospital. We cleared the road blocked by the fallen tree with the help of the fire department," reported Ko Aung Myo Tun from the Hinthada District Network Ambulance Team.

Similarly, another tree fell, blocking the main road near Phayakone Village at 1:30 p.m on the same day. The Road Department subsequently cleared it.

Regarding the pagoda damage in Hinthada, it was reported that the incident occurred in the Pabedan neighborhood. A Bodhi tree near Shwe Myintin monastery fell, damaging the umbrella of the pagoda.
