An unexploded grenade discovered near a high school in Kyaukmawgyi Ward, Dawei, Tanintharyi Region at 3 pm on June 26, according to residents.

A resident of Dawei said that an unexploded grenade was found on the grass beside the road near the Kyaukmawgyi High School.

He continued, “The relevant authorities closed the roads and cleared the bomb. After 4 pm, the roads were reopened".

The resident also said that explosive devices were often found in Dawei in this month.

It is reported that one student was killed and 25 students were injured while a student took and played with an unexploded 40-mm grenade at a post-primary school in Eain Shae Pyin ward in Dawei at about 12:30 pm on June 4.

In addition, on June 17, two mines were found at the intersection of Oake Tantagyi Road in the center of Dawei, and the mine clearance work was performed by the authorities, according to the residents of Dawei.

In addition to this, it is reported that two rounds of 40-mm ammunition were found near the entrance sign of Dawei on June 21, and the relevant authorities came to clear it out.
