U Aung Khant has testified as a plaintiff against U Win Myint and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for case No.49 out of case Nos.46, 47, 48, 49 and 50 under the anti-corruption law for causing a loss to the state funds as they abused their power in renting and buying the helicopter without following the financial rules, according to a source close to the court in which their case was heard.

As usual, both were brought to trial in a specially set up court in the compound of Nay Pyi Taw Council on April 5.

During the court hearing, U Aung Khant from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) tested as the plaintiff.

The source said both U Win Myint and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi seemed to be in good health and the next hearing is due on April 19.

ACC announced that an enquiry team was first formed to deal with the complaint against former Union minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye for the above cases.

Further investigation led to the fact that U Win Myint and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi abused their power in renting and buying the helicopter without following the financial rules. They granted permission through step-by-step office procedures, causing a loss to the State fund and assets, so they had been charged with corruption, ACC announced.
