Parliament approves $93.779m loan for information centre

Union Parliament has approved the proposal to loan US$93.779 million to build an information centre.

"After the loan plan has been approved, we will take measures for signing a loan agreement, monitoring the spending of the loan and supervising repaying the debt with interest," said Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance Maung Maung Win at a meeting of the Union Parliament held in Nay Pyi Taw on December 18.

The deputy minister also explained matters related to use of facts and data about taxation on the website, e-government procedures on information related to tax and revenue, establishment of an ICT platform for integrated tax administration system, online tax payment at large taxpayer offices and extension of other offices.

The loan proposal was approved through parliamentary decision after discussions of Union Minister for Transport and Communications Thant Zin Maung and Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance Maung Maung Win.
