More than ten villages including Sinbawgaing refugee camp have been submerged by flood water from Laymyo River in which water level is above its danger level, said locals.

About 3,000 IDPs from the refugee camps, which is build at Laymyo riverbank, are evacuated to high land.

Similarly, Shwe Kyin, Daing Thar, Chin Sate, Done Gyi, Taw Tan, Gwa Sone, Htain Pin, Nga Tar, Pwe Ya Kansate, Ohpyin Taung, Pyin Taung, Pyin Yaung, Min Phu, Kat Pe, Pale Taung, Thazi and War Taung villages located beside Fonethar and Panmyaung creeks in northern Minbya Township are facing the danger of flood, according to locals.

At the present, flood covered some villages in northern areas and some low areas in Minbya due to torrential rainfall in recent days.

Water eroded riverbank in Minbya and a riverbank in Shwe Pyi Tan port collapsed.

According to the observation made by the DMH on July 12, the water level of Laymyo River at MraukU is observed as about 4½ feet above its danger level. It may exist 1½ feet above the current danger level during the next 2 days.

It warned people lived near the river and lower areas to be careful of flood.
