More positive patients are found in Yangon, Mandalay and Ayeyawady regions and in the long term, the government will be struggling with expenses cost in quarantine centers, said Dr Than Tun Aung, Head of Public Health and Treatment Department for Ayeyawady Region.

“Regional governments from Yangon, Mandalay and Ayeyawady cost many expenses as there are many positive patients in the regions. The governments have to pay for food and drinking water and other expenses for healthcare staff and volunteers. Donors and regional COVID committees provided cash and other necessary things for people who are poor. It will create a little problem in the long term. People don’t want to use personal used items, blankets and mosquito nets, used by people quarantined before them,” said Dr Than Tun Aung.

The ministry is emphasizing to make schemes at markets, highway stations and crowded areas for people to wear masks, to distribute masks and face shields to people came to outpatient departments in hospitals, to give masks to people who don’t wear them by cooperation with related departments and traffic police force, to provide educational talks using hand speakers and to have more rapid antigen diagnosis test kits.
