NLD party CEC denounced destruction of NLD headquarters

The National League for Democracy (NLD) party issued an announcement that those who destroyed the NLD headquarters’ office must take the responsibility for their work and NLD party denounced their act according to its announcement made on February 10.

Around 10:00 pm on  February 9, the military unlawfully raided the NLD party headquarters in Bahan Township and Central executive Committee office in Tamwe Township in Yangon where curfew was announced from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am where there were no one inside these buildings. Military confiscated property from these buildings including computers and documents according to NLD CEC member Tyi Toe. 

NLD strongly condemned the unlawful acts, according to NLD CEC members. It is also an unlawful act and violating rule of law. NLD party is an officially registered organization in accordance with the political parties’ registration law. Moreover, the NLD won a landslide victory in the 2020 general election, the statement added. Those involved in the unlawful raid must take the responsibility and NLD strongly condemn those committing unlawful movements. 

Since the military staged a coup on February 1, NLD offices across States and Region were guarded by the military and later they raided the offices.
