The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) announced that it had arrested 106 undocumented migrants from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan in a raid on Seri Cempaka apartments in Rawang city on January 6, 2024.

The raid was carried out by various teams from JIM and other agencies, based on complaints that illegal foreigners were residing in the low-cost housing units.

The operation started at 12:30 am and checked 468 people, of whom 106 were found to be violating the Passport Act 1966 and the Immigration Act 1963. They will face legal action for their offences, JIM said.
