YANGON-----Legendary comedian and actor Poe Phyu passed away yesterday evening.

Although actor Poe Phyu (Phyu Win Shwe) had received medical treatment at OSC Private Hospital in North Oakkalapa Township, Yangon Region, he died of Lung disease yesterday evening.

“In the past, he had suffered from liver and lung diseases. But, he was recovering from his treatments. He was smoking a large cheroot. So, he suffered the lung disease and then he stopped the smoking. Although he recovered from his treatments, he began the smoking. That’s why, his lungs were damaged and he died from lung disease. We are very sad to hear that he was leaving. We together with him (Poe Phyu) worked very long years,” said one of his colleagues.

Actor Poe Phyu had performed as a comedian      at Mya Ponnama dance-troop. Moreover, he acted as an actor in the movies.

The audiences and film stars including actor Zarganar, A Yaing, Nga Pyaw Kyaw and Director Mg Myo Min wrote on their Facebook pages that they were very sad to hear that he passed away.
