If peace prevails in the whole Union, regions and states will rapidly develop with added momentum in the short run. The dreams of the entire people will be noticeably spotted, said President Win Myint.

The remarks came from his message sent to the 72nd Anniversary Union Day in Nay Pyi Taw on February 12.

The country has faced internal insurgency for more than 70 years due to evil legacy of the previous history after regaining her independence. The internal insurgency was due to misunderstanding, lack of trust and suspicions among different national races. The country is still facing continuing internal insurgence. 

The different national races must safeguard the independence, sovereignty and Union through collaborative efforts. Different languages, literatures, cultures and customs ensure consolidation among different national races. The most important factor for the long-lasting country is to establish a federal democratic Union. 

The Union Peace Conference also known as the 21st Century Panglong Conference is being held nowadays to depict the establishment of the federal democratic Union. The government and ethnic NCA signatories are negotiating at the 21st Century Panglong Conference. 51 principles of federal democracy could be signed as the two parts of the Union Accord. We continue marching toward the peace destination through a process of negotiation for ensuing that all NCA non-signatories would participate in the peace dialogue, President Win Myint said in his message. 

The Union Peace Conference also known as the 21st Century Panglong Conference is trying to give a picture of the dream of a federal democratic Union the different national races long for since more than 70 years ago. I firmly believe that if peace prevails in the whole Union, regions and states will rapidly develop with added momentum in the short run. The dreams of the entire people will be noticeably spotted. The different national races can achieve national reconciliation and peace and then I would like the different national races to consider how regions and states will develop in the future, said President Win Myint. 

President Win Myint called for the different national races to work together with the government to successfully implement the five national objectives adopted from the ceremony of the 72nd Anniversary Union Day.
