Fatal collision occurs on Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw expressway killing two men

Five vehicles, including two passenger buses, collided at Mile Post 158 of the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw expressway on the night of February 9, killing two men, sources said.

The fire services department and social assistance groups went to the scene after received the report about the incident.

Yu San passenger car, Khain Mandalay passenger car, Toyota RAV 4, Super Custom and Toyota Caldina vehicles collided, according to the Myanmar Fire Brigade.

As a result of the collision, two men were killed and eight others were injured, two of whom were critically injured.

According to a statement from the fire services department, the dead and injured were transported to Taungngu Public Hospital by ambulances from the Swa Social Assistance Association and the Myothit Social Assistance Association.

A search and rescue vehicle from the Thagara expressway fire station and a team of fire brigades members conducted rescue operations at the scene of the accident.
