It is reported that an arrest warrant was issued in Thailand on February 1 for U Kyaw Lwin (Thai name Mr. Phu), the owner of the Thahtay Kyun Hotel, who was born in Myanmar and received Thai citizenship, and his assets were confiscated.

It is reported in Thai media that 18 entrepreneurs, including U Kyaw Lwin, are involved in illegal online gambling, fuel export, tax fraud and possession of black money and seven businessmen have been arrested in connection with the cases.

"Starting on February 4, officials from Myanmar are inspecting the Golden Bear Bridge in Kawthoung, where vessels carrying fuel and fishing boats are docked. Myanmar officials also visited Thahtay Island when the Kawthoung-Ranong Friendship Tourism Festival was being held. I don't know if the hotel is closed or still operating. Currently, there are more than 2,000 staff members of the Thahtay Kyun Hotel in Kawthoung. They are going to be unemployed. Taxi drivers and vendors are already in trouble," said a businessman from Kawthoung.

Currently, there are the security staff and staff to provide hotel room services at the Thahtay Kyun Hotel and online casinos and other entertainment venues have stopped, said the locals.

"The owner of the Thahtay Kyun Hotel is a Thai citizen. It is known that the Thahtay Kyun Hotel is not under his ownership. The person we know as Si Kyaw Lwin has provided many jobs for Kawthoung residents," said a resident of Kawthoung.

Thai authorities raided and searched 27 target locations all over Thailand at the same time and impounded billions of Thai baht in cash, jewelry, and cars. It has been announced that U Kyaw Lwin aka Mr. Phu has not yet been arrested.
