An artillery shell detonated near the No.7 Basic Education High School in Padaleik village, Sittwe Township, Rakhine State, causing injuries to two students.

 The incident occurred yesterday afternoon. 

The State Administration Council (SAC) confirmed that the explosion resulted from heavy weapons fired by the Arakan Army (AA). The wounded students, who had just completed their first day of the matriculation examination for the academic year 2023-24, were promptly transported to a military hospital. Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and other officials visited the victims to offer comfort and support.

In response to the incident, regional security forces are collaborating with local communities to enhance security operations and anti-terrorism measures. 

Their goal is to ensure the safety of all candidates currently sitting for the matriculation exam.
