An Airbus A319-100 plane bought by Myanmar Airways International (MAI) arrived at Yangon International Airport on December 26, sources said.

The plane flew from Phoenix, United States and welcomed by Aung Aung Zaw, Chairman of Board of Operations Management of the MAI and officials at the airport.

The MAI now has five A319 planes and one A320 in its fleet and has planned to add more planes to its fleet to run more overseas flights.

The airline is running from Yangon to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou and Kolkata using the six Airbus planes.

The MAI is running regular flights to South Korea, four times a week, by cooperating with Meebang Air Agencies starting from December 5.

Based at Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, the MAI is providing regular flight services to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou, Gaya and Kolkata and chartered flight service to China.
