Khun Okka, Patron of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), appealed for a month-long ceasefire in the Pa-O area in the PNLO press release issued on March 19 in order to celebrate the Pa-O National Day, which is the supreme honor of the Pa-O people, in unity and success.

In order to successfully celebrate the 75th National Pa-O Day on March 24, he said that he appealed to the armed conflict occurred in Hsisaing, Hopon and Pinlaung townships, which have been designated as Pa-O area, to stop for a month from March 23 to April 23.

As a result of the temporary cessation of hostilities, Pa-O national day celebrations will be held successfully everywhere, and conflicts will be reduced, as well as charities and humanitarian aid will be able to be delivered to refugees, according to the statement.

Pa-O Youth Organization (PYO) reported on March 19 that due to armed conflicts in Hsisaing, Hopon and Pinlaung townships in southern Shan State, the number of displaced people has reached more than 100,000 in almost two months, killing 49 civilians and injuring 64.

The Pa-O Youth Organization (PYO) said in a statement that there are 65,900 IDPs in Hsisaing Township, 18,600 IDPs in Hopon Township and 17,300 IDPs in Pinlaung Township.
