Army and RCSS clash in Mongpan

The army fought with Restoration Council of Shan State/ Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) in Naunghe village tract, Mongpan Township, Shan State (South) on October 15, according to a report from Tai Freedom news agency owned by the RCSS.

The report, quoting a field report from the RCSS, said the RCSS forces clashed with the army, who are intruding in their area.

Brig Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team replied that no fighting broke out in southern Shan State on October 15 and only in Hseni Township, northern Shan State.

Tai Freedom reported they don’t have a list of casualties in details and sources from locals said the army restricted locals to enter the area.

The report said the army and RCSS encountered once in Loilan village tract, Mongkai Township, southern Shan State, on October 23 after the unilateral ceasefire period had expired.
