UEC rejects the party registration application of the Union Development Party

The Union Election Commission (UEC) announced on May 21 that the Union Development Party's application for party registration was rejected as it did not comply with the Section (6) of the Political Parties Registration Law.

According to the verification responses of the relevant ministries regarding the Union Development Party’s application to be registered as a political party under Section 5 of the Political Parties Registration Law, it was found that it does not comply with the provisions of Section 6 of the Political Parties Registration Law.

According to the decision of the Union Election Commission Plenary Session No 2/2024, the Union Election Commission now rejected the party’s application for party registration in Form (G) of the Political Parties Registration Rules, and it is announced that the remaining groups that applied for the registration of the party are also being verified.

At present, those who want to establish a political party are applying to the Union Election Commission by stating the name of the party they wish to establish. As of May 14, there are 15 groups that have applied for the right to establish a party according to UEC.
