Thai authorities look after displaced villagers fleeing from Lay Kay Kaw fighting

There are about 1,300 displaced villagers fleeing from Lay Kay Kaw fighting to Thailand. So, the Thailand authorities already protect the displaced villagers, according to the reports from Thailand.

The displaced peoples are now fleeing to the embankment of Mori River on Myanmar-Thai border following two days of fighting near Lay Kay Kaw about ten miles south of Myawaddy.

Fighting between the Tatmadaw and Karen ethnic armed organization began on December 15 in Lay Kay Kaw Myothit, a town that symbolizes peace.

Although the displaced villagers were put in the warehouse on the embankment of Mori River, the Thai authorities replaced the displaced villagers at the Maetown School in Mae Soat, Myanmar-Thai border, because the current weather is cool.

As being of December 16th, the numbers of displaced villagers are increasing and there were about 1,300 displaced peoples until yesterday evening.

In the afternoon of December 16th, a heavy weapon coming from Myanmar exploded near warehouse and cattle farm situated on the embankment of Mori River in the Thailand area. So, a displaced person was wounded due to the heavy weapon attack, according to the reports from the Thailand.

Currently, Thai authorities provided food and accommodation facilities to the Myanmar displaced peoples. If the fighting will be ending, Thai authorities will send the displaced villagers to their natives.

Similarly, there are over 4,000 villagers taking shelters at the refugee camps and monasteries at some villages in Myanmar side so also the well-wishers donated foodstuff, clothes, blankets and warm clothing for the displaced villagers.
