Regional USDP’s candidate shot dead in Bilin

 MON------San Tun Oo who is a candidate of Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) for No.1 Constituency in Bilin Township, Mon State, was shot dead at night of November 9th, according to the USDP’s statement.

Two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on San Tun Oo while he was discussing about providing health care services to the inpatients at station hospital in Zoatthot village, Bilin Township and immunization program of COVID-19 with the doctor. Later, he died on the spot, according to the statement.   

“We heard about nine gunshots from Zoatthot Station Hospital at night of November 9th. We knew that San Tun Oo from USDP was shot dead and another one who was talking with San Tun Oo was injured in the leg,” said a person from Zoatthot village.

San Tun Oo was not only USDP’s candidate for Bilin Township but also one of the members of USDP in Bilin Township.

Likewise, Bilin Township USDP’s chairman Myint Swe was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on May 27th. Myint Swe ran for the General Election-2020 in Bilin Township constituency for an upper seat.
